The UltraMatrix AV DVI is designed especially for control rooms, video presentations, security centers, video wall displays, and many other digital media applications.
Up to 16 video sources can be switched to any selected output port. The video switching can be controlled by the front panel, the RS input using a PC Windows based software, or serial commands sent to the RS port. The UltraMatrix AV DVI supports resolutions up to x for high quality imagery Repetitive switching sequences can be recorded and saved in 1 of 50 macros for playback at any time. The access software makes switching the selected input to an output fast and easy.
Just click on the input source and then the output destination and the video is instantly switched. Installation consists of two procedures: 1. Connecting the video sources and destination monitors to the unit 2. Monitor 16 CPU 1. It is recommended that each video input be labeled to keep track of the video source. Each video input can be assigned a name for ease of identification. The name assignment is performed during the RoseControl software installation.
All video inputs are located on the rear panel and are labeled video 1 — Connect the remaining video sources to the corresponding video inputs. Connect each DVI monitor to the corresponding video out ports. Finally, connect the controlling computer to the RS port on the unit using the provided serial cable. When all connections have been made, power up the system. UltraMatrix AV Installation and Operations Manual 3 Install the RoseControl switching software on the computer or laptop that will be used to control and switch the video inputs.
Follow the onscreen instructions to properly install the software. Click on the RoseControl Icon to invoke the switching software. Figure 2. If you have 4 video input sources to switch to 8 displays, change the inputs field to 4 and the outputs field to 8. The switching matrix will automatically adjust to a 4 x 8 switching matrix. Example: 2. If 0 is entered, the unit will not wait for a response and any errors that occur will not display. The matrix OSD will display as shown in Figure 3.
The default matrix is set to 16 x 16 for a single unit installation. The switching matrix makes it easy to select and switch any input video and optional audio source to any output destination. By clicking on a cross-point, you can route a single or multiple outputs to a single input source but an output can only be connected to one input source. In the example shown in Figure 3, Input 04 is connected to output 03, 07, and Figure 3. The output names can also be changed to identify the display location or function.
To select multiple outputs to connect to a single input, hold the control Ctrl key down and click on the individual output numbers needed. Next, click on the input number to route to the selected outputs. Example: To route outputs 1, 3, 5, 7, and 16 to input 2, hold down the control key, click on the output numbers 1, 3, 5, 7, and When all outputs are selected, click on input number 2. To select multiple adjacent outputs to connect to a single input, click on the first output number, hold down the shift key, then click on the last output number.
Example: To route outputs to input 3 and outputs to input 7, click on output number 1, hold down the shift key and click on output number 5, then click on the input 3. These switching commands can be from a serial string sent to the unit or using RoseControl software to easily route the video. To enter the learn mode, press and hold both the scroll and enter buttons for seconds.
Press the scroll button to cycle through the options. Next press the scroll button to select the input source to route to the selected output. Sequence through the 8 outputs and assign the needed input. An input can be switched to any or all outputs, but an output can only be connected to one input source.
A flashing cursor will appear over the input number. The Out number above the flashing cursor is the output selected. Press the Scroll button to cycle through Inputs That input will be connected to the selected output and the flashing input will advance to the next one. The set-up menu can also be access by pressing and holding both the scroll and enter buttons for seconds. NOTE: All equipment should be properly connected, powered on and the control computer connected via a serial cable to the unit prior to installing the RoseControl software.
Follow the onscreen instructions to properly install the software. Figure 5. The Rose Control switching matrix will configure to display the 8x8 model showing 8 inputs and 8 outputs as shown in figure 6. Rose Control Switching Matrix The left column lists the inputs and the right column lists the outputs The input and output names can be changed by highlighting the name to change and re-naming it.
Switching using Rose Control Switching Matrix Using the switching matrix is the easiest way to route a video input to any or all outputs. Click on the cross-point where the input to route vertical numbers and the output destination horizontal numbers cross and the switch is executed immediately. The example shown in figure 7 shows input 1 routed to output 1, 3, and 7, input 2 routed to output 2, input 3 routed to output 4, Input 4 routed to output 6, Input 5 routed to output 5 and output 8.
Inputs 6, 7, and 8 not assigned. An input can be routed to multiple outputs, but an output can only be connected to one input. Figure 7. Example of Switching Matrix To select multiple outputs to connect to a single input, hold the control Ctrl key down and click on the individual output numbers needed. Next, click on the input number to route to the selected outputs. When all outputs are selected, click on input 2.
To select multiple adjacent outputs to connect to a single input, click on the first output number, hold down the shift key, and then click on the last output number. Example: To route outputs to input 3 click on output number 1, hold down the shift key and click on output number 3, then click on the input 3.
To route a single input to all outputs, hold down the control key and click on an input number. Example: To route input 4 to outputs , hold down the control key and click on the input 4. Outputs will be routed to input 4. Recording Macros On the right side of the RoseControl switching matrix there are up to 50 macro tabs that are used to save and play back macros.
These macros store a set sequence of routes. To record a macro: 1. Click on the Record button. Select the desired cross points. There is no limit on the number of routes you may record.
If you click a macro button while in the record mode, the macro will be executed, and these routes will be added to the recording. Units easily connect together with bus cables to make a seamless and truly scalable kvm matrix solution.
The advanced distributed design of the UltraMatrix uses networking communication technology to reduce cost, eliminate single points of failure, and increase reliability. The unit will support a maximum video resolution of x
